Sardines in Olive Oil with Lemon Minerva

Raw material

The sardine is a blue fish with around 14 cm of length, characterized for having silver belly scales, with which the sun light is reflected to blind its predators and protects from them. It inhabits the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea and normally travels in big schools.

The Minerva sardine is fished according to the Portuguese traditional fishing in a sustainable way, respecting the marine environment.

Preserve preparation

The Minerva canned sardines are produced with fresh fish, caught in the campaign months. They’re prepared and canned by hand, one by one. They’re accompanied with a slice of fresh lemon and covered with olive oile. This combination enhances the taste of the product.

The cans are sterilized by thermal process at 118ºC to avoid the resistence of any microorganism that may decompose the food.

It’s offered in individual format of 120g of weight per can.

Conservation and harmonization

This can must be stored in a cool, dry place, with no need to be in the fridge. After being opened, in case they’re not totally consummed, it’s recommended taking the content out of the can and keep it in the fridge until 48 hours.

Its consumption is recommended at room temperature, as an appetizer in any occasion, acommpanied by a good, young white wine.
